Training Guide

TAP TRAINING GUIDE:

PLEASE LEAVE YOUR EGOS AT THE DOOR AND BE MOTIVATED TO TRAIN HARD!

If you do the same things in your dancing you will get the same results!  Come to TAP ready and open to try new things, to make your mind and body move in different ways!  Wake up with Yoga, go to a Burlesque class (yes guys, even you), take a Hip-Hop Class, Experience a Contemporary Class! Our weekend is meant to challenge everybody but not intimidate anyone!

HOW WE LEVEL OUR WORKSHOPS:

We recommend staying within your WCS dance level based on WSDC points. However, lower level dancers are free to “EXPERIENCE” any of the higher-level classes.  If you do not compete and do not know what level you belong but believe that you might be higher than a level 1, take a level two class and ask the instructor to monitor your level and take that instructor’s guidance after class in good faith.  Please treat our instructors kindly and with the respect that they deserve at being the very best in their field!

EXPERIENCE = Bring a partner/friend with you to class and place yourselves in the corner out of rotation. Refrain from asking questions or disrupting rotation.  Please do not pull leveled dancers out of rotation even if they do not have a partner at that moment.  We’d like to create two different learning experiences with’in one class.  The dancers that are qualified for that classes’ respective level will be in general rotation and are there to “Take” the class, i.e., rotate and ask questions.  Those who are not qualified for that respective level, but still would like to “Experience” a class, can do so out of rotation with a set partner.  Feel free to show up and see if anyone else looking to “Experience” the class is looking for a partner.  We’ll ask our instructors to help in this process.  We hope this system will make everyone happy and fulfilled!
