$225 –  After we sell out of any of the above ticket buckets you will have the ability to join the waitlist. Joining the Wait-List is FREE and no money is exchanged. Being that TAP allows ticket returns, we anticipate the Wait-List to have some success. Though we can’t know for sure how many people will ultimately return their tickets. Please make sure the email you have associated with your danceConvention.net account is valid! We will email those on the waitlist who have the opportunity to be upgraded to a Wait-List Entry Ticket. At which time we’ll ask for you to pay for your Wait-List Pass. 

TAP has been super fortunate these last couple of years and has experienced some incredible growth! The support and love we’ve experienced from the community has been awe inspiring… from the bottom of our hearts… Thank you!

All of a sudden we found ourselves at the point where we had to cap ticket sales due to room capacity… then in 2023 tickets sold out in 40 hours! Wow.. and omg what just happened!? Yay.. that’s awesome… also selling out that fast, presented some new challenges. Some of those challenges have inspired us to set in place some strategic approaches to ticket sales to do our best to preserve the vibe at TAP. These are good problems… but challenging non the less.

We really feel like TAP is special (admittedly, we’re proud parents talking here 🙂 In our hearts we believe our awesome staff and the amazing demographic of dancers who have historically attended, are two key components that helped create that dynamic. We’ve been so blessed to have such a large number of overseas dancers attend our event! Furthermore, organically we’ve had almost an exact even number of Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, and Allstar Dancers attend TAP! We don’t know how, we don’t know why… but it’s awesome and we really want to try to do our part to celebrate TAP’s diversity and level demographic as it has organically grown over the last couple of years!

We can see a likely scenario, in which the make-up of TAP changes quickly to attendees who have the financial freedom to purchase tickets asap, have the proximity to the event to not have to sort out travel; and/or are good with technology and can beat others to the punch in an increasingly smaller window of time. Our new approach to ticket sales is driven exclusively by our desire to keep the organic composition of dancers we’ve enjoyed these last couple of years and not allow the speed of ticket sales to change the core make-up of what makes TAP what it is today.

In this effort, we’ve adopted a more European approach to ticket sales: Adding ticket sales guidelines based on types to try to balance the event. We know, like any change, sometimes the newness can feel clumsy and even sometimes jarring, please we ask for your grace and understanding as we navigate these new waters. We now use “Ticket Buckets” based on either level or country of origin. In other words, we have more or less an equal number of tickets for Open (Novice) Follows, Open (Novice) Leaders, Intermediate Follows, Intermediate Leaders, Advanced Follows, Advanced Leaders and All Star Follows and All Star Leaders. We also set aside a portion of our capacity and tickets for overseas dancers, who historically can’t commit to a ticket until they organize their groups and buy airfare. We also are setting aside Masters tickets, again using the average of the last two years as a baseline for that quantity. We simply are looking to keep TAP roughly as balanced as it was organically based on the last couple of years.

Our best guess is that tickets will sell out again this year, all of our policies are based on that assumption. If we have space to open up ticket sales closer to the event, we most definitely will! In which case, some of these policies are likely to change. Thank you for your grace and understanding as we continue to tweak our approach to adapt to this new dynamic.  We truly are just trying to find a way to keep the heart and soul of TAP intact.

Ticket Buckets / Quantities of Tickets to Be Sold: 

The quantity of each bucket might vary year to year, but our general goal here is to maintain the mix of dancers we had on average in 2022 & 2023. These quantities below are rough numbers to illustrate how buckets work, not to represent exact quantities of competitors… remember multi role dancers, International, Masters, Work Exchange Dancers and wait list tickets will add to the variation.  

  1. Bucket #1 = 120 x Open (Novice) Pass aka General Admission Tickets
    (These passes are for humans who do not fall into any of the below categories, those who are competing in Novice and those who are choosing not to compete)
  2. Bucket #2 = 50 – 60 x  Intermediate Follow Passes 
    (For those competing @ TAP in Intermediate as a Follow)
  3. Bucket #3 = 50 – 60 x  Intermediate Lead Passes 
    (For those competing @ TAP in Intermediate as a Lead.)
  4. Bucket #4 = 50 – 60 x  Advanced Follow Passes 
    (For those competing @ TAP in Advanced as a Follow)
  5. Bucket #5 = 50 – 60 x  Advanced Lead Passes 
    (For those competing @ TAP in Advanced as a Lead)
  6. Bucket #6 = 50 – 60 x  AllStar Follow Passes 
    (For those competing @ TAP in AllStar  as a Follow)
  7. Bucket #7 = 50 – 60 x  AllStar Lead Passes 
    (For those competing @ TAP in AllStar  as a Lead)
  8. Bucket #8 = 15 x  Masters Follow Passes 
    (For those competing @ TAP in Masters as a Follow)
  9. Bucket #9 = 15 x  Masters Lead Passes

  10. Bucket #10 = 115 x  International Passes 
    (For those friends who currently live outside the USA)

    *Please make sure you sign up for the correct ticket type based on your level and role. We will monitor ticket sales and reserve the right to refund your ticket if ultimately you purchase the incorrect ticket. We are using the level you’re at the time of purchase as our marker. If ultimately you level up, no worries, you already have your ticket. If you level up and there are still tickets in the new level available and you haven’t yet purchased your ticket… awesome, go for it! Masters, we prefer you opt first to purchase the Masters’ ticket, but if those are sold out and your level ticket type is still available, have at it! 

 

Ticket Policies:

  • All tickets will be sold pre-event online, we will not be selling tickets at the door. 
  • There will be no Spectator, or Night Passes sold at the event, other than for Thursday night. 
  • We will start a waitlist after we sell out each bucket. As people return tickets leading up to the event, we’ll offer those tickets to the waitlist. It is your responsibility to update your email in the danceConvention.net system and check your emails for Wait-list updates. 
  • All Waitlist tickets will be sold @ $225
  • Competition entry fees, increase on Nov 15th, 2025
  • If we sell out of International passes, International Dancers can purchase Open Tickets if there are any left. 
  • Everyone attending this event must agree to and abide by our Health Policy, Waivers and Code of Conduct found on our site under “Things to Know @ TAP. 
  • If people register but payment doesn’t go through,, we will give them a payment deadline and if unpaid those tickets will be released to the waitlist. 
  • If we don’t sell all of the Allstar or International passes, those spots will also be opened up to wait-list tickets. 
  • The biggest bulk of tickets that will most likely become available will be the weeks leading up to the event. That said, if we are too close to the event to allow for you to book travel, we ask that you login and cancel your waitlist reg. That way we are not offering wait-list tickets to those who can’t make it. Thank you for your understanding! 
 
 

Ticket Return / Refund / Exchange / Transfer Policies 

  • Tickets are fully refundable for any reason, minus the transaction fee up to a week before the event.  As long as we are notified no later than WEDNESDAY 11/27/2024 @ 5pm.
  • Tickets are not transferable to other people.  Do not buy tickets from other humans, droids, or overseas princes. They’re either fake or that dancer hasn’t read our policy.
  • If you’d like to return your ticket please email us by WEDNESDAY 12/04/2024 @ 5pm, we will offer that ticket to someone on the waitlist. Email: [email protected]
  • If you are feeling any symptoms of illness, please stay home to protect the community. Thank you! 1
